A victory for 1 million Oregonians

Imagine that you could line up every single Oregon household struggling to pay the rent. Then, alongside them, you lined up every household in Portland, far and away Oregon’s biggest city. Which line would be longer?

A victory for 1 million Oregonians

Statement of OCPP policy analyst Janet Bauer

Today, voters protected over 1 million of our neighbors whose health care hung in the balance. With today’s vote, Oregonians made clear they do not want to go backwards on health insurance coverage. Now, we must look forward. Lawmakers must finish the job by ensuring that every Oregonian has access to quality, affordable health coverage.

The Oregon Center for Public Policy thanks voters who stood with us in support of affordable health care for Oregonians. We are proud to have played a role in clarifying what was at stake in Measure 101.
