Today, we honor the sacrifice of women on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic, many of whom work for lower pay than men.
Prior to the onset of the crisis, we had prepared this video to be released today, on Equal Pay Day. It was inspired by the workers of UFCW fighting for equal pay — workers who today risk their own safety to make sure all of us have access to food during this emergency.
Thank you to all grocery store workers and all frontline workers.
This episode examines what the end of the federal food security report means for Oregon, as well as why poverty is a policy failure, not an individual failure.
