Despite more than half a decade of economic growth, Oregonians were still more likely to live in poverty in 2015 than they were prior to the Great Recession.[1] In fact, the number of poor Oregonians exceeded the state’s population east of the Cascades. Poverty remained particularly high for children and Oregonians of color. And, deep poverty — a measure of Oregonians living in the direst of circumstances — remained elevated.
